What do I enjoy most about tutoring?
I love the feeling of a student having an "Aha!" moment, where suddenly a difficult concept like Lenz's Law suddenly makes sense. This to me is the most enjoyable part of tutoring. Also, I love seeing my students get better marks and see their work ethic/study habits improve, as this means that my efforts are paying off.
My Strengths as Tutor
I try my best to be empathetic to all my students and know that some students get concepts quicker than others and vice-versa. I also take the time to listen to my students, and encourage them to ask any question (I operate under the "no question is a dumb question" philosophy) that comes into mind. I can also explain concepts in multiple ways, helping my students see questions from multiple perspectives. I also joke around and keep the atmosphere fun and friendly, placing high emphasis on learning effective study habits, and urge them to trust in the learning process.
Most important things I can do for a student
A tutor can teach a student a concept, but what is more important is that the tutor instils in their student good effective study habits, the correct mindset, and teaches them to how to set goals/see the bigger picture. Hopefully, these skills will also help them out in general life, and extend far beyond the walls of a classroom.
