What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
What excites me most about tutoring is watching the students I help comfortably grasp the concepts I am either introducing or fine grooming with them. I have found that many students lack the confidence to attempt certain problems because they don't think they are intellectually capable, and so I find it truly rewarding when I can help them overcome their uncertainties and give them the optimism to approach similar problems in the future.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
What makes my tutoring style unique is that I can articulately express the multi-step process I take to solve any problem. Rather than forcing students to holistically understand a particular concept by internalizing a problem altogether, I prefer to break it down piece by piece, or line by line, as small as each piece needs to go, so that the path to a solution is extremely transparent for the student. Additionally, I have a very positive attitude, I am highly organized, and I have excellent communication skills, all of which must be expected of any effective tutor.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Having spent a lot of my high school career with a variety of tutors, I have created the ideal profile of an effective tutor in my mind, and the most important thing I value in a tutor is their ability to go beyond showing how to do something and reveal the path a student must take to discover a solution for themselves. The most unforgettable lessons are those that are discovered through a sense of accomplishment, and so it is essential that a tutor provides guidance and challenges the student to really think about a problem and ultimately find the correct solution on their own if possible.
