What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Seeing the click moment when students understand a concept. That's the whole point of tutoring, if I can see that click, then I know I've done my job and the student is happy.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I take a lot of time to listen and grasp where the student is currently at. The first step to getting to your location is knowing where you are on the map. Many tutors and teachers seem to think they know where a student is at and give them answers to a question the student didn't actually ask. This loses the student instantly.
Some students require in depth explanations rather than accepting an answer without questioning it. I'm more than willing to explain in more depth if it gives the student more reference points to connect the concepts to, even if the route is indirect.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Being patient, most people don't learn concepts instantly; most things we learn are gradual.
Be willing to take a step backward to go two steps forward; understanding learning isn't linear.
