What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy breaking down the problem at hand into it's core concepts and understanding them on an even deeper level than before. But while doing this, I also get the opportunity to help someone who might be missing some key information that makes the rest of the concept/approach fall into place. Helping others leaves me feeling helpful and productive - contributing something to the community, which is something I enjoy.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am knowledgeable in the subjects I am offering tutoring in (math, physics, chemistry). I am a patient person, and will take time to work with a student until I am convinced they're making progress. I am also clear minded in both communication and in my understanding of the concepts at hand.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor should take their time with a student and make sure the student understands before moving on. I believe the purpose of tutoring should be to provide learning strategies that are specific to the individual in contrast with teaching in a classroom (at the pace of the class). A tutor should provide multiple strategies for learning. For example, some students are visual learners, and might need diagrams and an intuition provided to really "get" a concept. Alternatively, other students might be more suited to doing many practice problems to develop their understanding.
