What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
The last 5 years of my life Iβve enjoyed studying a subject thatβs been continuously engaging and rewarding. I accredit this all to my tutor I had previously, who introduced me to the interesting side of mathematics through his enthusiasm and passion for it.
Now being able to teach and engage others in the subject is an activity I find immensely gratifying and I hope to continue doing this having left education.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
- Iβve completed a degree in mathematics. Any questions or curiosities the student may have on the formulas and equations Iβll be able to give an in-depth answer (dependent on the student), hopefully giving a more memorable and interesting experience.
- I understand that there are many ways of approaching problems and have had a large amount of experience experimenting which will suit best.
- I have good time management and planning skills.
- I have good interpersonal skills and lots of patience
Most important things I can do for a student π
Having come from an extremely competitive mathematics university course, I fully understand the value of finding a method of studying that resonates with the individual. Laying down a strong foundation of knowledge is key in not just giving the student a full understanding of the material, but will allow the student to then apply and develop their problem-solving abilities.
Ultimately a tutor should aim not just to improve the students immediate grades but should teach the student key skills in analysing and approaching the problem. Skills useful beyond the classroom.
