What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy facilitating growth in students and allowing them to reach their full potential. Additionally, seeing the reaction of students as they develop academically makes tutoring a fulfilling experience.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I consider myself quite a calm and patient person, meaning I can teach students at a pace that they are comfortable with without getting frustrated that they may not be learning at the pace that I want them to. This creates a much more harmonious environment that I believe students learn best in.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
It is important to understand that no two students are the some and what may work for one student may not work for another. Therefore, it is crucial that tutors accommodate to the individual needs to each student. This can include revising topics for some students or giving other students more challenging questions to better suit their needs

Zarleah was able to correctly draw bar charts and pie charts when given a series of data. I gave her some questions which involved using arithmetic to solve for unknown data values. She was able to solve for the unknowns and incorporate them into the graphs.
She had some difficulty understanding the difference between percentages and fractions in relation to sections of a pie chart. At the moment, percentages is a difficult concept to understand so we focused on using fractions to describe the different sections of the chart.

-Zarleah did well ordering fractions on a number line. She was able to find the LCD of the fractions to then compare them. She also found drawing the fractions onto pie charts helpful when deducing which fraction was larger and which was smaller -She was able to do simple arithmetic with fractions
-Zarleah needed some help converting fractions. This is still a new concept and we will continue to work on this in the coming weeks. It will become easier when she understands the similarities of fractions and division
Zarleah completed some of her school homework activities. She managed to do her fractions quiz very well. We also worked on ordering fractions on number lines.
