What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I love contributing to a child's learning experience and encouraging students to share their own knowledge with me. Every child has a different experience in school, sometimes positive and sometimes overwhelming. I believe that one on one time with a tutor is crucial to confidence building, and can also help with managing anxiety.

My degree program in University was focused on communication. I strongly believe in building trust, setting expectations and positive reinforcement. I can also teach a student how to structure their study habits and organise their workload.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

To help a student identify which habits are beneficial and which are not, a tutor should be a great listener and observer. A tutor should relate to a student and demonstrate an understanding of the student. It is important for a tutor to make a connection with every student and create a positive and safe learning environment. A tutor should give students tools to build their own confidence, so they feel empowered to explore new ways of learning and studying. A tutor should help spark interest and motivate a student to take pride in their work.
