What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I find that the most enjoyable aspect of tutoring for me personally is having the chance to learn more about how people learn. Through teaching, we develop a greater understanding of ourselves and how to best use our own skills to teach others, which then helps drive students to greater levels of success and confidence in their subjects and course material.
I love Being a part of helping students have a breakthrough in understanding related to their learning. Having the chance to watch a student suddenly put the pieces together and understand a concept they didn't before is highly rewarding.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I believe that my greatest strength as a tutor is my willingness to adapt my teaching style to fit each student individually. Through teaching music, I have learned that in addition to everyone learning at different rates, every student has their own unique learning style.
I make it my mission to help identify this learning style and present my lesson materials in a way that aligns with that as best as I can. If students are visual learners, I incorporate visual elements into my lesson plans.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The single most important thing that a tutor can do for a student is to help them build confidence in their own abilities to learn and overcome challenges. By helping grow and nurture this sense of confidence, a tutor can give a student the tools that they need to learn not only the subject they are working on, but also other subjects and skill or hobbies in the wider world.
By setting realistic goals and tasks with a student, and then helping them meet or exceed these, students can feel the joy from succeeding at something. This success helps to build confidence, which leads to more success.
