What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
As someone who genuinely enjoyed analysing the texts in both Literature and English, I see tutoring as a wonderful opportunity to pass on some of the skills and tips I developed throughout my years of VCE in order to help someone else to navigate the waters of high school a little better. Additionally, I love the idea of being able to use and refine my current skills in analysing texts through teaching.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I think my general strengths as a tutor are mainly in my ability to communicate and willingness to throw myself into tasks. Specifically for the topic of English, I think my strengths lie in the techniques I've developed for analysis and essay writing, especially where it incorporates aspects of all three subjects of English, Literature and English Language to create in depth responses accounting for both literary perspectives and language analysis.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I feel that the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to act as a source of information throughout their time of studying. School can be, and often is, stressful, even if you love the subjects being taught and the teachers teaching them. Therefore, I think the role of a tutor hinges largely on offering support and passing on experience in the forms of methods of learning that allows for a smoother experience throughout high school, seeing potential points of confusion from the student's perspective and aiding in their clarification.
