The most important things a tutor can do for a student is to develop the student's critical thinking skills so that when they continue to study or whatever they want to achieve in life, they have the skills to keep learning and teaching themselves. A tutor must not only give a student the confidence and encouragement needed to learn properly, but must instruct the student on HOW the learning and studying process works, and give structure and framework for the student to work with. It is of paramount importance to give constant constructive feedback.
