What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
My favourite aspect of tutoring is watching my students grow to become diligent learners. I help them understand the concepts thoroughly so that they can truly get a grip of what's required in their knowledge. It's an amazing feeling when they finally become independent and can answer questions on topics without my assistance, as this indicates that I have done my part to further my students' educational development.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My strongest characteristics as a tutor would probably be my friendliness. Through my experience as a House Captain and Prefect at Mansfield State High School for 2020, I've been able develop my skills when it comes to talking smoothly and interacting with students. I feel that my easy-going attitude makes students feel much more comfortable in a learning environment. Moreover, in my role as a TIP Leader, I worked on integrating the younger grades (Years 7 and 8) into life at a high school. This was accomplished by me building rapport with them so that we could achieve our goals as a TIP team.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
It is pivotal that the tutor is always easily approachable as otherwise shy students may be reluctant to ask the tutor questions and thus those shy kids may end up falling behind. In addition, I feel that tutors must always be supportive towards the student as any harsh or negative comments may severely hinder a students willingness and ability to learn. Moreover, the tutor should also be reliable, for example, when a student requests the tutor's services, they should make themselves available as that specific tutor may be the key to unlocking the students learning potential.
