Understanding a topic really well I believe is imporant. Being able to wrap your head around an idea so you know what's going on, I think is really good, versus just knowing how to answer the question. I think both are important, but if you have an understanding you're not just working solely by what techniques you've memorised.
I think what also is important with large tasks is planning. I value taking some time to set out what the goal is and what the path to get there is going to look like, that way you are not just ovewhelmed by the large unwieldy task in front of you, but you have a clear guide and roadmap to follow that is broken down into easy to follow steps.
If Iām properly prepped, then I am better prepared to help the student along their way.

He goes too fast sometimes and doesnt quite read the question correctly which leads to getting the question wrong. He definitely has math skill, I think confidence which is built through repetition will be helpful and learning to slow down and take the time to think thorugh a question will be helpful for Aaron.
