What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
I think the most rewarding part of being a tutor would be building a strong relationship with students and being able to guide them to understand concepts that they struggle with. Whilst I havenβt tutored before, I think I would enjoy helping students overcome any set-backs they may have when learning, and teaching them not just to understand concepts but also how to enjoy the process of learning it.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I like to be extremely organised, and so as a tutor I would always make sure to have the material ready for each class so that I can teach as efficiently as possible. Being organised also means that I would take the time to revise my own knowledge of a particular subject if necessary before I start teaching.
When helping friends with uni questions, I like to approach a concept with simpler examples before relating it back to the question. If needed, I like to provide multiple examples on the same concept, as I believe patience is key!
Most important things I can do for a student π
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to teach them that learning can be enjoyable, and not just a task. I believe that a tutor should take the time to motivate their students to approach learning with a positive perspective, and provide them with the necessary advice when students have doubts or worries about their academic performance. It is important as a tutor to not just provide students with academic assistance, but also teach them skills that they can apply in their daily lives.
