What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I enjoy connecting with the students and knowing that I can make a difference in their learning. I am proud when I am able to raise their confidence and self-esteem so that they are able to perform the best that they can. Seeing students succeed as a result of my aid is greatly satisfying and undoubtedly one of the most enjoyable parts of tutoring.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am confident and sure in my understanding of a subject, while being able to take advice from others. I believe I can explain difficult concepts in simpler terms so that students can gain a complete and holistic understanding of the subject matter, rather than superficial explanations. This allows the students to better comprehend the topic and even fuel their own personal interests in that area. Through this, the student may even begin to enjoy the subject and will naturally perform better.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is to instil confidence in a student, in their own abilities, understanding and application of a concept. Often times self-doubt holds students back, and reassuring words from a tutor on their personal strengths can greatly aid them.
As a tutor I also have a duty to ensure the information I teach is accurate and relevant. And while getting the student to enjoy the subject is not a necessity, this often has great impact onto the student's attitude towards learning which is why I believe it is an important part of a tutor's role.
