I consider the most important that a tutor can do is able to do is simply a topic or break down said topic into digestible portions such that the student is able to catch onto the content of the work easily and effectively. With a good understanding of the topic and the skills to explain its contents to the student, the tutor ensures that the student is being adequately educated. Really struggled with word problems and ended up not wanting to do questions that she couldn't do or questions where her own method didn't work. Overall she has to understand that I'm not here to degrade her rather to help her understand and work through questions.
