What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
As a tutor, I love sharing knowledge I am passionate about with others and get so excited when students feel the same way and are excited to learn, particularly as they choose their electives in senior years. As a student, it was so satisfying to finally understand the content I was struggling with and as a tutor, find it such a joy to see students' confidence and enthusiasm increase after they experience the same feeling. I am also extremely goal-focused and love to set goals with my students to work on together and reward ourselves when we achieve these goals as a team.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am extremely experienced with leadership and mentorship and believe I will be able to help students stay motivated and inspire them to work hard. I also have great interpersonal communication skills which will allow me to connect with the students and problem solve. I have strong organisational skills which is important for setting out lesson plans to ensure the students get the most out of our sessions and achieve their goals we will set at the beginning of each term. Finally, I am adaptable meaning I can approach problems from different perspectives to individualise learning plans.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
I believe a tutor should be understanding, patient, passionate, and encouraging. I had a tutor for my HSC and I believe that to gain a strong connection with the student, you must be their biggest cheerleader. You must be there to support them through their obstacles and successes and be an ear to listen when things become overwhelming. A tutor should also get excited to watch them achieve their goals. Finally, I believe a student must have the upmost trust in their tutor which I would love to gain whilst being a fun and enthusiastic figure in the students' learning career.

Clara has done really well in preparation for her exam up until this point. She is confident in most of her content and now it is all about applying that knowledge to different types of questions. I have every faith that she is going to smash this exam if she continues to revise and complete practise questions regularly, like she has been already.
Nothing to report :)

Today, Jerry and I had an extremely productive lesson. Jerry caught onto the concepts he missed in the exam quickly and was able to apply his mistakes to other questions he got wrong. He stayed quite focused and although it is frustrating to not do well in an exam, he was very resilient.
Regular revision of the work he is completing in class will help Jerry achieve his goals and high marks in his weaker topics. Over the next few weeks, we will revise linear graphs and equations and algebra which is the foundation of this topic.

Clara did really well at grasping the concepts quickly after we talked through them and felt confident by the end of the lesson to apply the different formulas and answer corresponding questions. For the next few weeks, we will be working on Surface Area and Volume, Trigonometry and Normal Distribution to ensure she feels confident walking into the HSC.
Nothing to report this week :)
Jerry worked quickly and efficiently through his homework allowing us to have plenty of time at the end of the lesson to revise for his upcoming test.

For Jerry to do well in this test, I suggest he revises every day revising his teacher's notes, the textbook and the work we did in our lesson. He should focus on building his understanding of writing the equation of the line and finding the gradient using a table of values, graphs and points on the line. This will ensure he has a strong foundation to go well in the exam.
