My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My mum was a math teacher in her home country and always tutored me after school, from her I learnt how to be consistent in teaching, to encourage and to explain. Patience and understanding of the student's frustration and the cause for confusion are also extremely important. A patient tutor is more likely to take things slower, so that the student is able to not only complete the work, but understand the basic reasons behind the system.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Allowing the student to "teach back". Ff a student is able to teach the basics to someone else as well as spot where errors have been made, they have understood the method and are able to reassess their own work.
Being patient, all tutors have once felt academic pressure and felt like certain concepts were too difficult, however it is important not only to encourage our students but to allow them to voice their feelings and doubts about the subject, so that tutors can better support them.
Personalised teaching and recognising student learning patterns and how they learn best

Energetic, positive mood, focused and excited to learn. Learned well, did a great job. Natalia would be able to self study her X chart well if she broke up each section into smaller sections. Often has the correct answer, just needs to confidence to know she's doing well.
Needs to remember the logic behind multiplication and not just the order (e.g. 5 x 3 = 15, so 6 x 3 must be 15 + 3) Needs help in translating sentence questions into a sum

Did long addition well, remembers to mark her 10s to carry over. Simple subtraction done very well. Homework had no mistakes. Can benefit from a review in the future.
Sometimes forgets to add her extra ten/one to her sum and makes mistakes trying to be quick. Sometimes does not look to check if the sum is addition or subtraction. Homework, however, had no mistakes here.
Trying well, enjoyed the play money. Revisiting this soon.

Quiz review of addition and subtraction was less confident than last week. May need a quick brush up. Struggling with money, as a child, there is not many instances where she may need to use money, so Natalia hasn't grasped the concept well yet. Mistakes in subtraction using two digit numbers.
Can count well by whole tens, sometimes gets a bit tired and does not make full effort.

Struggles with counting backwards and forwards when changing the hundreds unit. Not focused and tired.
