What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

I enjoy the bit of teaching where a person understands a concept well enough to apply it and the smile that brings them. Throughout my tutoring career, I have made a lot of people happy with themselves and I have been able to erase the phrase most students say; "I'm not good at mathematics". One of the attracting aspects of teaching is the ability to pass on knowledge as well as, sharpen your knowledge at the same time (Feynmenn technique). This ability to pass on knowledge has been integral to mankind and I love the fact that I will be able to contribute to the future by becoming a tutor.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I understand what people struggle with the most. During middle school, I was a very below average student. I remember averaging 30-50% in my school assessments throughout year 7-9. In year 10, I started to take things seriously and I self taught myself the concepts that I'd have to tackle during VCE and I remember not understanding a thing when I was reading through the textbooks trying to learn. However, all the YouTube and Khan Academy videos helped me merge all the different teaching and communicating techniques that worked for me to best teach students.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

Understand what the student is struggling with and help with an exclusive technique to best help them. A generalised approach to help students understand concepts is very ineffective as each individual is different. A tutor must have excellent interpersonal skills to understand how a particular student learns and works to provide them with personalised advise. A tutor must provide the student with knowledge and a safe space to get questions wrong in order to learn most effectively. A tutor must be available at any time to immediately help with whatever a student is struggling with.
