What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Tutors are a curious combination of teachers, parents, friends, students, and gurus. Of course, I teach, but some students don't need much teacher because they need an authority who is as tenacious and irresistible as their parents. Other students are motivated by sympathetic tutors and peers who happen to help with their studies. A good tutor (such as a good teacher) also needs to be a student who is always one step ahead, stays up to date and has a better understanding of the concept. Plus it provides me the flexibility of working in the hours that I am available in after my PhD work.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
With the past 4 years of experience in tutoring and helping students with problems in different subjects, I've acquired the traits that are crucial to teaching such as:
communication and social skills
patience, responsibility, tolerance
ability to solve conflicts, emotional intelligence
creativity and enthusiasm for teaching
ability to explain difficult things in a simple way
ability to connect with children (or with older students), on a personal level
understanding for the world of children, their emotions and feelings
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to provide them a safe space where they can ask you about any problem without a hesitation and communicate in a way that makes the learner feel motivated, enthusiastic and confident in their ability to master and enjoy whatever challenges come along.
