What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Having the opportunity to instil a love of learning in young students and inspire them not only on an academic but also a personal level. I also enjoy forming a rapport partnership with students because their achievements are just as rewarding for me as they are for them. Lastly, through tutoring, I can improve on my communication skills and learn new things during the process of teaching, whether it’s how each student interprets a text or how they would approach a question.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am highly devoted to making a contribution to a student’s success. Along with being punctual, I am also flexible and patient. These qualities are ones that I have been working on over the past years as I helped my younger sister with her school work. Furthermore, I am honest and goal-oriented as I aim to establish plans with my students with small goals to achieve throughout the year and I will be firm in providing constructive feedback to ensure that they work to a sufficient standard.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
A tutor should be proactive in seeking feedback from students and find how to best teach them as everyone learns differently. It is also important to communicate with parents and ensure they have a mutual understanding of their children’s work nature and how to support them. From my experience of being tutored during VCE, I learned that consistency and practice is also a huge contributing factor to academic success. Rather than solely going through the curriculum topic by topic, students should revise previously learned topics throughout the year so that it’s easier to prepare for exams.
