What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
Being able to help others to reach the "ahah!" moment and to generally watch them improve over time makes me want to do it more. I care that others do well and I make time to help others if they need it.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
My knowledge about maths as well as my willingness and passion of helping others is a strength. I also try to figure out more of what someone can work on, not just what they tell me they need to work on.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is care about them. I believe that once you care about someone you work more towards their goals, helping them in any way that you can and even going out of your way to ensure they achieve their goals and are proud of the accomplishments they have achieved. If a tutor stops caring about their students then its the students that end up suffering the cost, its the students that don't end up reaching their goals. The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is care about them.

Her grasp of fractions had improved, she was more confidently solving addition and subtraction of fractions as well as canceling out numbers with multiplication and division of fractions. She learned in the lesson how to convert from percentages to fractions and could apply them to worded questions.
Confidence in her ability to solve problems and to go slowly and one step at a time when given a complicated question.
She knows her BIDMAS and basic fraction concepts(ie what a fraction is)

Ava has a lack of foundation with her maths skills and it will need to be worked on, her knowledge of how to begin certain fraction questions(ie addition and subtraction of fraction) will have to be worked on.
I used more visual elements with my explanations(chocolate bars to represent fractions, groups of watermelons) to encourage engagement.

Ava is still uncertain with how to approach problems, but she is more vocal and more engaged which is good. I will be working on trying to have the lessons be more fun but still working on the foundations.
