What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁

The most enjoyable thing about tutoring is getting to know the students, and personally sharing their excitement when they start to improve their knowledge and understanding. The most rewarding thing about teaching is seeing the progress of the student, and I enjoy using what I know to help others realise new potential.

My Strengths as Tutor 💪

I feel that I am knowledgeable and can relate to, and work with the student through a problem. People retain learning material best if they are able to directly work through that material. I tend not lecture students, rather I ask them prompting (open style) questions that enables them to work through the problem themselves. This may be helping a student through fixing errors, or by helping the student to address the problem in a different way. I feel my strength as a tutor is that I help the student feel they are the one solving the problem, not being simply told what the answer is.

Most important things I can do for a student 🏅

The most important thing a tutor can do is help the student find their particular learning style, study habits and exam technique. There are multiple ways to view the same problem, and each person finds some easier to understand than others. The best thing a tutor can do is provide as many different ways of understanding and interpreting the problem as they can, and use the most successful one as the way to further enhance the knowledge of the student.
