What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
I love working with a student, reflecting upon their work and progress and seeing their faces light up when they see a gradual improvement in their work! Being able to help a student is just so fulfilling, and because of that I make sure to be detail-oriented and passionate in my work with them, as I know every step of the journey matters during tutoring.
I also enjoy analysing the student's portfolio of skills, and putting together what would be the most effective, actionable goals for them.
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I care deeply about teaching, both the more practical and mental side of it. I got an ATAR of 97.30 and band 6 performance in English Extension, Biology, Chemistry, Japanese Continuers and Mathematics Advanced. I'm detail-oriented, and am very big on reflection, so I make sure students can make actionable progress towards their next goal, regardless of their skill level within the subject. I pick up on details others often do not see, and with my background in drama and public speaking I can explain my thought process articulately and clearly to students.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
The most important things a tutor can do is 1. Make sure the student can pick up on actionable goals to improve and 2. Make sure their mentality is in the right spot so they have faith in themselves. Students need to see their skills improve overtime, and the tutor can perform reflections and practice again and again to drill important skills in. They must also encourage and motivate students during times of distress, and make sure they are in that valley of productive stress, where they can fight for the best result for themselves :)
