To provide moral support as well as valuable experience. Great study tips and tricks! Strengths - I am good at explaining things - usually in a few different ways too! I can sympathize with my students because I too have been through the joys of school and studies. I enjoy tutoring so I put in 100% of my effort and time. Weaknesses - I have OCD…

The first greatest thing that tutor can do for a student is serve as a ladder for the student to progress to next level of life in any kind of circumstances and letting students to take challenges as an opportunity. In ensuring promising life for those innocent students and making them succeed in the field which I had processed with and moreover…

As a tutor, I firmly believe in the profound impact that effective education can have on a student's life. Drawing from my experience in teaching as a CSR activity, I recognize several essential aspects that I consider crucial in nurturing a student's growth and learning journey. 1. Fostering Understanding: One of the most important things I…

To create a supportive, encouraging environment where they feel safe to make mistakes and grow. Human connection is the foundation of effective learning. In a world flooded with online resources and AI-driven tools, what students often lack isn't access to information, but meaningful guidance. Tutors bring the human element back into learning by…

Besides teaching concepts and helping students solve problems, I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is to motivate students. As I believe, unlike school teachers, tutors can give students individualised attention. They have more time with their students to talk about what challenges they are facing about subjects or reflect on where…

Tutoring is not just about explaining content; it is about helping students develop strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of concepts. Whilst a tutor is only present with their student for a limited time, they can help by providing a clear understanding of what the syllabus wants and giving resources. They are also there to answer and clarify a student’s questions and assist in developing a structured work routine. Since I have recently completed the HSC and have studied the…

I believe the most important things a tutor can do for a student are to believe in them, encourage them, and remind them that failure is a natural part of the learning process. A tutor should help students build confidence, especially when they feel discouraged or downcast, and support them in staying motivated. Creating a positive and reassuring…

In this way, the student will look forward to the meetings every week instead of dreading them as some students do. My strengths as a tutor is that i have had 4 years of experience, in…

Being committed to the student and their growth should be the most important thing for a tutor. There is nothing more rewarding for a teacher than seeing their student improve under them. I believe that a tutor should not just provide answers to a problem, the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is teach them how to think to solve problems. This is why teaching maths or physics should go beyond drilling procedures, formulas and theorems into a student's head - tutors should encourage students to develop a wholesome…

The most important thing would be to create a safe space for students, so they will feel welcomed and understood. This can build their confidence as well. El-Abed is a great tutor. He is very dedicated and is passionate about maths. This translates very well with his tutoring style. El-Abed is very patient with his students, and really takes the time to explain each problem. Communication between the Ezymath office and myself is excellent. They respond in a timely manner, and are very supportive with any issues.

Inside Wolli CreekTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Sophie focused on cylinders and circles, as well as comparing discrete and continuous data sets using mean, median, and mode.

In Year 11, Ethan practised solving trigonometric functions within restricted domains and worked on graphing these functions for clarity.

Meanwhile, Year 12 student Emily applied differentiation rules to find equations of tangents and normals to curves, alongside further revision of rates of change using exam-style questions.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11 Advanced Maths, one student struggled with exam time management—"please also be mindful to allocate the time accordingly to the marks"—resulting in rushed explanations despite strong understanding.

Another in Year 10 Mathematics avoided showing full working for algebraic steps, which hid sign errors and slowed feedback.

In Year 8 Science, note-taking habits were inconsistent, leading to missed key terms during revision.

Meanwhile, a Year 5 learner found it hard to follow story sequencing and often skipped reading back aloud, making comprehension and problem-solving more difficult when tackling worded maths questions.

Recent Achievements

One Wolli Creek tutor noticed a Year 11 student who previously hesitated to tackle harder calculus problems now choosing to graph complex derivatives independently, applying rules for trigonometric and exponential functions without prompting.

In a Year 9 session, another student who used to skip practice questions in probability began working through each step aloud, asking clarifying questions rather than guessing—showing much more initiative than before.

Meanwhile, a younger learner in Year 4 has started sounding out unfamiliar words with little encouragement and can now retell stories in her own words after reading each chapter.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Arncliffe Branch Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Al Zahra College.
