Having received a lot of tutoring growing up, I know first-hand how challenging it can be to grasp difficult concepts. The tutors who made the biggest difference for me were patient, supportive, and able to adapt to my learning style. They not only helped me understand content but also built my confidence and sparked my curiosity. That experience…

The best thing is to guide a student in a direction which is best according his or her capabilities. He/she should be motivated to follow the path in which he /she has upper hand or better grasping power. Tutoring is not just about teaching ......It decides the future of next generations. So a tutor acts as a blueprint for a student's carrer.…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is buiding their confidence and enjoyment of a subject that they perhaps once struggled with. I believe that if a student comes into a tutoring session each day begrudgingly with absolute hatred of a subject they won’t absorb what is being taught as well because they’d rather be somewhere…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to create a safe space and judgement free zone, so the students can feel comfortable and safe. Through this, the student can solely focus on the study, not other outside variables, therefore maximising learning efficiency. Tutoring for me is about supporting student through the hard parts…

A tutor must be considerate about a child's limitations and strengths and these qualities are vastly different between every individual child. Important things to be a tutor is to be honest with your student and not "sugar coat". You need to be able to tell them the harsh realities as you are there to assist in their wellbeing and creative a positive outcome for both student and teacher. It was extremely easy to get started with EzyMath. We had been waiting months for a school tutor to become available, but when we couldn't wait any longer we contacted EzyMath. The tutor we have been given is very respectful and has already within a few weeks gained the trust of our son. We are already starting to see his confidence return and he is smiling again.
Paul, Wyndham Vale

Inside Wyndham ValeTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Aanya focused on identifying different types of angles within geometric shapes and practiced working with supplementary and complementary angles.

For Year 10, Riya worked through solving quadratic equations by both factorisation and completing the square, then applied these skills to form and solve equations from worded problems.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Aryan concentrated on graphing piecewise linear functions and used function notation to solve practical application questions.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student often relied on repeating familiar question types, avoiding newer problem formats in algebra; as one tutor noted, "concepts already taught are having to be repeated from the beginning for each new problem," which slowed progress and reduced exposure to different solution strategies.

In a Year 7 session, incomplete practice with forming equations from word problems meant steps had to be re-explained, disrupting momentum.

For VCE Maths (Year 12), insufficient revision of earlier units led to delays during sessions, as past concepts weren't confidently recalled when tackling advanced differentiation tasks. Time was spent revisiting basics instead of consolidating higher-level skills.

Recent Achievements

A Wyndham Vale tutor recently noticed a big shift in Braith, a Year 10 student who used to take several steps to solve equations but now works most out mentally and has started finishing his weekly syllabus ahead of schedule.

Anushka, also in high school, previously hesitated when faced with graphing tasks; last session, she confidently sketched transformed graphs without needing prompts.

In the primary years, Alice—who struggled with identifying geometric shapes—now quickly names them and applies parallel line theorems smoothly. During her last lesson, she solved every angles question independently.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Manor Lakes Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Iramoo Primary School.
