Chemistry can be confusing. Even if students pick it up in the beginning, the sheer amount of content and scope of principles can be overwhelming. It's no wonder most students need an extra push from time to time.
The best thing teachers can do if their students are struggling is approach their learning in a personalized way, really getting to know their habits and specific challenges they face. There's nothing like having that one person who knows your study habits inside out, especially when it comes to science. Unfortunately, in classrooms, that's not always possible.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
I have been helping Izaak by giving him some tips and tricks I have developed to assist with algebra and have also been letting him attempt problems by himself first and figure out where he went wrong before I assist him. This is a way for him to learn to error check himself which is an important ability to have when completing exams.
This month Christina has been coming to sessions with a positive attitude. Christina has put in a good amount of effort this month. Christina has good work habits, however she needs to remember to bring home her maths books on Wednesday nights, as it will make it easier to work out what she is doing in class.
Phoebe's numerical skills have improved a little, which is good to see. Her algebra has also improved, more work on this will make it easier for recognise what to do in more complicated expressions. Algebra and division are Phoebe's weakest points at the moment, we will continue to work on these in the sessions. She also struggles with worded problems which we will work on more.
Very happy with the way it is going thanks Gene. Benedict is a good tutor and Saf and I are both happy with her progress.
All going well. Aisling has connected well with Anthony and he feels that the tutoring is helping.
Karla's tutoring is going very well. Hilario has a lovely manner and approach and Karla seems to be getting on very well with him. They have talked about getting the basics right and he's teaching her tips to remember key things as Karla becomes very stressed in exams and cannot concentrate. So hopefully this approach will help.
