Chemistry can seem abstract, learning about elements and matter, how equilibrium occurs and how chemical systems react. No wonder students get discouraged.
All it takes for a student to go from a mild distaste for chemistry to understanding what is scribbled in the textbook is someone to point out what to avoid and where to put in that extra hour of revision. It's like with any problem situation in schooling and even in their personal life, students need to know about using effective strategies. Then all you need is persistence, staying on task until you reach your goal.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Renee appears to talk through the stages of a maths problem as she is solving it which is great. More effort could be perhaps placed into checking her work as she goes. Renee's formatting skills could be improved - we will talk about this.
Faye is keen to improve and always comes to our sessions prepared with work she wants to look over. Faye consistently tries hard in our tutorials, even if she is tired and has other homework to do. Faye's class notes are of a good standard. She may find it useful to keep a separate summary book that she can quickly refer to.
Lara does better when she has confidence in herself and her abilities. Exam stress is possibly an issue, and may be related to her recent marks in exams. When she works with confidence, she is less likely to make mistakes and/or not identify. Precision in her mental arithmetic has improved but could still be better. Lara is more likely to answer questions correctly when she is relaxed and confident, which is something we are working on for her exams.
Yes, all going well with Vicky thank you for the follow up. Pareise is great and Vicky loves the way she explains things to her.
