Chemistry can seem abstract, learning about elements and matter, how equilibrium occurs and how chemical systems react. No wonder students get discouraged.
All it takes for a student to go from a mild distaste for chemistry to understanding what is scribbled in the textbook is someone to point out what to avoid and where to put in that extra hour of revision. It's like with any problem situation in schooling and even in their personal life, students need to know about using effective strategies. Then all you need is persistence, staying on task until you reach your goal.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
To avoid overwhelming Andrew, the main skills that have been worked on are: talking aloud, back checking, pen to paper, note taking, and confidence. Andrew took quickly to being able to write down his thoughts articulately and ensure that correct notes are taken. He was slow to pick up talking out loud, but now does it reasonably consistently. Back checking is still being worked on to develop it to a point where occasional reminders are no longer necessary.
There is no huge issue with his attitude in our lessons He does try hard in our lessons but still gets distracted from time to time He tends to over complicate problems more often than not leaving him with more to solve than necessary
I think Annalise has a sound understanding of what we have been working on so far. I do not think there are any gaps in her maths knowledge. I think just her ability to substitute and use her calculator are areas that she can work on. I feel that every concept i have explained to her so far she has understood well.
So far so good! They have clicked from the first lesson. Clay is learning lots so Ryan's style obviously suits Clay to a T. Ryan is a lovely boy and we are very happy with him.
Marnus really enjoys Kamran's help and encouragement. They were preparing for his test on Thursday and I hope to get a positive test result because of that. I appreciate my son's positive response to Kamran and his tutoring.
We have had 2 Tutoring lessons with Ishita so far and we are very happy. Ishita is a delightful and intelligent young woman and Emily and I felt comfortable the minute we met her. She is quite an effective tutor and we look forward to get continuing her tutoring of Emily. Thank you for your support.
