Donya talks out aloud when doing the calculations. She puts pen to paper. She is diligent in doing her homework and making additional notes. She is hesitant to attempt questions if she is unsure. Her confidence is still growing to ensure that she attempts more questions She does not have lazy thinking and rule dependence. She is able to correct her errors once she understands the theory.
Harrison always puts in a solid effort and he is happy to go through and find out where he makes mistakes and how he can correct them. He is listening well and seems to understand the questions as shown from his homework. Harrison has been able to complete his homework on time and has shown interest in solving harder problems to challenge himself.
I have noticed that sometimes Ethan learns how to solve types of questions from higher levels of maths based on procedure, and without fully understanding the question. This is evident in our work on Pythagoras' theorem, however this is Year 8 work and I will continue to help him to understand in order for him to be able to complete complex questions.
Darius is fantastic. He is extremely dedicated and well mannered. He often stays more than 1 hour to make sure Harry understands everything they have covered.
