Physics is such a vast area, it's easy to get lost. While a lot of the content can be simply memorised, which many students still do, physics also requires higher-order thinking. Understanding the scientific method isn't a small task. All of these demands in a short period of time and with exams coming closer and closer, no wonder students shy away from science subjects. The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Lucy Puts Pen to paper which allows for me to make sure she is heading in the right direction with her work. Her formatting of solutions is improving. Lucy Also Talks aloud through some problems so that She is better able to work them out. Her overall Maths skills are improving
Yeukai seems to have a much better attitude now that she is going general maths. Yeukai appears to be putting in a lot of effort in learning the concepts in maths. Maybe because the concepts are slightly less difficult so she can spend more time in mastering them. Yeukai completes all her homework regularly and appears to spend a solid amount of time doing maths.
David should try and make better corrections (putting a single line through errors rather than crossing out). This is important because sometimes we cross out the correct answer or valid working out. It's also highly beneficial to keep a record of where we went wrong so that we can see how we improved. See "gaps."
Devina is fantastic, I am so happy with Josh's progress to the point where he got the Maths award last week for his efforts!!!
Sean has a true talent for tutoring. James has bonded so well with him already, he looks forward to his sessions and already the class teacher has advised that he is understanding concepts better and may move him up a level in maths! I'm very happy with his progress. We are glad that Sean has picked up on James' difficulties and appreciate his genuine care for James' progress.
I have no doubt it was Nicole's tuition that increased Eden's understanding & test results to an acceptable level (in fact, a little beyond that). Nicole is friendly, approachable, knowledgeable & expresses her ideas in a manner that suited Eden, I felt she was able to adapt her teaching methods to cater to Eden's learning style, which is an incredibly valuable skill as a teacher/tutor.
