What do I enjoy most about tutoring? π
There are many aspects to tutoring that I greatly enjoy, but my favorite part is getting to know a student well and learning how they think so we can develop individual teaching strategies for them. It takes a certain amount of vulnerability for a student to open up to their tutor about their unique learning styles and whatever difficulties they may be having, and I really enjoy the process of learning about each other, learning to trust each other, and working together to create an environment and teaching method that will most benefit them.
My Strengths as Tutor πͺ
I believe my biggest strengths as a tutor are a strong understanding of subject matter, good skills in communicating, and a patient mannerism which allows me to maintain a calm atmosphere for students, ideal for learning. I enjoy working with kids and am able hold their focus while also creating a fun learning environment.
Most important things I can do for a student π
I think the biggest benefit a tutor can have is to help instill in a student a sense of confidence in their ability to learn. Regardless of how much subject matter a student is able to retain, they will have a lot of learning to do beyond when they are being tutored, so I believe it is at least as important for students to be βlearning how to learnβ while in school, and a tutor can help guide students down that path. Additionally, the confidence gained by finding success in a subject a student may have been having trouble with through help from a tutor can be extremely valuable.
