Chemistry is just one of those subjects, it either clicks or it doesn't. Many students find maths and physics easy, but when it comes to chemistry they just feel lost.
And it's understandable. It can be challenging to connect the concepts to real-life, see how it all relates to their day-to-day. When they're struggling, students tend to give up easily and at some point, they stop trying altogether.
If your child doesn't catch on right away, or maybe they consider chemistry a complete waste of time, it can be hard to convince them otherwise. What we've found is that students react better when it comes from someone who they can relate to.
They react to mentors, someone closer to their age, who shares the same experience. That's why tutors are in a unique position to help a student grow.
That's why great tutoring can make such a big difference.
Want to find out how? We can allocate a local Belconnen chemistry tutor within a day or two. They reach out to you and set up a first lesson whenever you and your child can make it.
If you like the tutor's approach you keep working with them. If you are not 100% satisfied - we consider it a trial lesson and find a better match. It's that simple!

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Vicki uses all of the learning strategies very well. Talking aloud comes naturally as she is comfortable around me to speak her mind. She implements back-checking in her written work more times than not, however in spoken exercises (like testing times tables verbally) she often just blurts an answer rather than thinking about it.
Although Algebra can seem rather abstract and uninteresting at the moment, it will become a very prominent concept in the Mathematics syllabus in later years, so I encourage Rosie to be more open to learning it!
Regular revision of topics from a couple of lessons or weeks ago in Sophie's own time as homework is important as often skills from previous topics are required to learn new concepts. It will also take a load off her when it comes to exam time as she will already have a solid understanding of concepts so she won't have to re-learn everything again.
Gabie really likes Michael and his way of teaching. We are very happy with him so far. I am very impressed with your staff so far.
Eva has had a good start with Amy. Amy is lovely, it did not take her long to work out Eva's needs. Eva actually enjoys the lessons and her recent exam results were impressive.
Jack is really happy with Jereme, we don't expect miracles straight away but just having the support is comforting for him. Time will tell.
