Year 11 and 12 Chemistry can be intimidating. Students need to learn heaps of content, be able to recognize reactions and analyse chemical systems. The number of concepts students need to master is overwhelming, and the workload only adds up as they move up the curriculum. If your child doesn't hit the ground running, if they don't develop adequate study habits it's easy to get swept away by the sheer number of demands.

If your child doesn't hit the ground running, if they don't develop adequate study habits it's easy to get swept away by the sheer number of demands.
Tutors we work with know that. They've been there. Being approached by a mentor rather than a teacher makes it easier for students to develop an appreciation for chemistry. That's what it comes down to - someone making sure your child doesn't give up.
For some students it's just passing a test, for others it's getting through with flying colours, maybe even preparing for a career in STEM. Whatever the goal, we are there to support your child through it all.
So what's the next step?
Give us a call and we will organise a chemistry tutor in Cook to come to your home for one-on-one tutoring, at a time that works for you and your child.
We allocate local Cook chemistry tutors so scheduling is never an issue. Changed your mind or need to postpone the lesson? No worries, there are no cancellation costs.
On top of that, the first lesson is a trial so if you don't like the tutor we'll find someone else who is better suited.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Ahsley's learning strategies are phenomenal! I am always aware of her thoughts about questions thanks to her talking aloud consistently as she works through problems. In recent sessions we have been working on back checking, and already Ashley is picking up on errors, particularly negatives, which have been a challenge in the past.
Mia has been working really hard on her math skills and she tries to do her times tables every single day and has improved a lot on them. She has worked really hard on subtractions as well and now remembers what those are and can do them perfectly.
Even though he knows how to do it, he still sometimes gets distracted after finishing a step of a problem and needs to be put back on course, but even that is improving. There are still a few gaps when he needs to recall material from previous years, but he is grasping the new material and pushing himself to improve.

Jacques seems quite happy with the 3 weeks tutoring he has had and when asked says he is enjoying the lessons. So a good start.
Sophie is responding to Rounak very well. Rounak is a great teacher and Sophie gets along well with him. We're all very happy!
It is going very well. Katie is a truly lovely person. Cassandra has responded well. It is going as well as it can. Cassandra is naturally avoidant of the subjects that she is being tutored in, currently with Katie we are doing one week on Maths and the following week on English and so on. Cassandra engages in the tutoring, and does seem to learn, despite her being sure that she doesn't need a tutor. My partner and myself are very busy at the moment and don't have time to tutor her ourselves, besides, she doesn't like to listen to us, whereas, she will sit beautifully with the tutor. So it really works in that way.
