Physics is such a vast area, it's easy to get lost. While a lot of the content can be simply memorised, which many students still do, physics also requires higher-order thinking. Understanding the scientific method isn't a small task. All of these demands in a short period of time and with exams coming closer and closer, no wonder students shy away from science subjects. The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
This past month mostly involved revision of content from last year. James has been good with writing out all working for questions. It would help if he double checked every answer to help avoid mistakes being made.
Positive change in attitude. She seem more enthusiastic about learning math and getting work done in class. She has been more focused this month and has had her homework done diligently. Less times in class when she "spaced out" and more willing to try questions in class. Always diligent with her work. Would be great if she could take the format skills/tips that I give her with regards to making her work more organised.
The biggest gap is that with the school. They don't seem to actually teach the math to the kids. They had a three week break from math and then all of a sudden a math test. Just general retention of concepts and answering before thinking about how to solve the problem.
Kirra is really benefiting from Payal already so we are very pleased! Exams start next week so hopefully just her confidence boost will help and then by Nov she should really see results. Thank you once again!
We met Cameron for the first time on Thursday and he was great, related well to Mitchell and it was obvious that the had a great understanding of the subject matter. I think it will be a good fit. Thanks for finding him
The tutor provided was of a high standard and our daughter made clear progress with her maths as a result of the tutor's methods and style. Although there would certainly be some benefit to be gained from ongoing tutoring - chiefly providing maths extension opportunities - and we may return in the future for further tutoring, we are more than satisfied with how our daughter is doing and the level of confidence she has now attained.
