I believe the most important things a tutor can do for a student is to understand that not everyone learns the same way nor at the same speed, and to have a genuine interest and commitment towards their student in order for them to successfully succeed. I believe my strengths as a tutor lie in my trust, patience and perseverance that i exhibit…

They should foster a space where questions are welcomed and addressed, allowing for deeper engagement. Patience is vital, understanding that each student learns at their own pace. Rather than simply providing answers or solutions, a tutor should encourage students to think critically and develop their own problem-solving skills. This might involve asking open-ended questions or challenging assumptions in order to help students develop a deeper understanding of the subject matter. I have excellent communication skills, both…

I believe a tutor should encourage a student such that the student can participate actively without any anxiety or fear of being wrong. Motivating a student and encouraging a love for learning through things like games, incentives and relatability to make classes more fun. I am extremely patient, I also enjoy the content I teach so I have no…

I think tutor should do everything for his or her students because after the parents only teacher is one person who can very closed for the student. Tutor should look after their students and if they have any bad habit then it's tutor responsibility to guide them in right direction and also inform their parents. Tutor can make hard subject into…

Most important thing for any tutor is to understand their student well. If they know the students quite well only then they could develop the educational materials and classes that caters the student's need. Next big thing is encouraging the students and help them maintain a positive attitude. Only if the student is motivated and have positive…

A tutor has an important role in the life of the student and many things that a student learns from the tutor sets a standard for how the student will relate with his/her studies. I consider a tutor responsibility towards students is to be committed and flexible. The tutor should be with their student even if both have been going through the exam period. Inside BentleyTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Ali worked on finding gradients of lines using both the rise over run method and co-ordinates, as well as solving linear inequalities and exploring parallel and perpendicular gradients.

For Year 10, Sara focused on chemical equations by practising ionic formulas, hydrated compounds, and empirical formula calculations, reinforcing her understanding through worked examples.

Meanwhile, Year 6 student Nia tackled decimals and fractions in geometry questions, using diagrams to help compare values and solve problems involving shapes.

Recent Challenges

A Year 10 student working on chemical equations had not completed the assigned homework, leading to repeated minor errors in writing formulas—"the student still shows some minor mistakes in writing chemical formulas," noted one tutor.

In Year 8 maths, another student's written work on rearranging equations was messy and lacked clear labelling, making it harder to spot calculation errors before moving on.

A Year 4 learner avoided practicing weekly spelling words, so the same mistakes resurfaced during class dictation.

One Year 7 student faced ongoing challenges converting word problems into diagrams, losing focus mid-task and requiring multiple reminders to return attention to problem-solving.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Bentley noticed one Year 11 student who used to hesitate with balancing ionic equations now talks through each step aloud and manages most problems independently.

Another high schooler, previously unsure about forming linear equations, has started solving for 'c' and graphing inequalities without prompting—she even asked for extra questions last session.

In a Year 4 session, a student who would get distracted during math tasks stayed focused throughout and answered all mental calculation questions quickly, showing much more patience than before.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Cannington Public Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Santa Clara School.
