I realised that the real challenge often isn't the students' abilities but their engagement with the content. My goal as a tutor is to approach material proactively, sparking curiosity and encouraging students to ask 'why?' and 'how?' instead of passively accepting information at face value. I believe in creating an environment where students feel…

Knowing something is a whole story, but teaching what I know is a completely different level. The most important thing is that tutors are able to summarise while teaching and ensure the repetition in each lesson. Also, maintaining a healthy relationship with students is significant for both parents' care and students' comfortable learning…

The most important things I can do for a student include providing clear explanations of concepts to build a strong foundation, adapting my teaching methods to suit their individual learning styles, and creating a supportive environment that encourages questions and critical thinking. As a high school leaver, I consider providing support and trust as well as accurate academic knowledge to be the most important thing that a tutor can do for a student. Students do have teachers at school, therefore, the job of a tutor is to revise and trigger the knowledge of students, letting them realise their potential. I have physical and…

I think its most important to listen and consider your students by asking questions, attentively listening to their responses to determine if they have underlying misunderstandings or misconceptions about the material. By letting a student explain the topic in their own words, I can diagnose the issue and perhaps offer a new perspective on how I…

Most important would definitely be effort towards a student. No student would want a tutor who does not have the best interest in them and would definitely not want a tutor who is giving 50% of their efforts. Another important thing a tutor can do for a student is show passion and that they care, and that they are someone the students can…

The most important things a tutor can do for a student is build confidence and spark an interest for learning. I would do this by encouraging a growth mindset and applying school concepts to the real world to show students that school learning does relate to the real world and doesn't just remain in the books. This is something I personally found…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to teach him the problem solving skills, and motivate him to apply his skills on any problem he faces. After gaining experience with several types of personalities, I am now a tutor that understands how the student thinks. I motivate the student to figure out the solutions himself in a fun…

I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is, to have patience with them as every student has their own pace of learning the subject. Being a role model and a guide for the students is the best thing a tutor can do. I try to explain what students find…

I believe a tutor imparts part of his or her knowledge to the student. However, it does not stop with just knowledge. I personally feel that a tutor can instill passion and confidence to a student. A tutor is a means of reassurance, while tutors aren't expected to be an all knowing textbook, students find reassurance knowing that someone with more knowledge and experience are within an arm's reach and are able to lend a hand. EzyMathTutoring has helped my daughter very much with her mathematics. She understands the work in more depth and its showing in her results. I am very pleased with her tutor and the way he explains and helps her with the questions or problems she has. Overall, very happy with everything
John, Canley Vale

Inside Canley ValeTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 3 student Ana worked on recognising vowels, practising the alphabet, and improving her reading and spelling accuracy.

In Year 10, Michael focused on trigonometry and algebraic arithmetic, applying these skills to solve textbook-style problems.

For Year 12, Emma reviewed differentiation techniques—including chain rule applications—and tackled questions involving exponential and logarithmic functions using past exam materials.

Recent Challenges

One Year 3 learner, when reading aloud, consistently pronounced every word with a "T" in front—this confusion over letter sounds made it hard to build new words.

In Year 8 maths, one student often felt overwhelmed during timed problem-solving and couldn't process solutions efficiently, as the tutor noted: "When the clock was ticking down, she lost focus and struggled to write her answers."

For a Year 11 advanced mathematics student, homework was sometimes incomplete or missing after lesson cancellations; this led to gaps in understanding of anti-derivatives and integration rules that lingered into later sessions.

Recent Achievements

One Canley Vale tutor recently saw a Year 10 student who used to get stuck on the first few algebra questions now breeze through the first ten in just 15 minutes after some targeted practice—she can solve similar problems much more easily without extra hints.

A high schooler who struggled with reading sections is now quick to skim passages, highlight key points, and finish those parts faster than before, even asking for tougher critical thinking tasks.

Meanwhile, a younger student who once hesitated to speak up now volunteers answers out loud and tackles reading tasks at a noticeably faster pace.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as The Whitlam Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Pal Buddhist School.
