Chemistry can seem abstract, learning about elements and matter, how equilibrium occurs and how chemical systems react. No wonder students get discouraged.
All it takes for a student to go from a mild distaste for chemistry to understanding what is scribbled in the textbook is someone to point out what to avoid and where to put in that extra hour of revision. It's like with any problem situation in schooling and even in their personal life, students need to know about using effective strategies. Then all you need is persistence, staying on task until you reach your goal.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Even though we have only had two lessons to date, her confidence in maths is already showing improvement as she has started to question herself less and work through the questions more independently, only asking for help when she is really unsure of what step or approach to take next.
No issues. No issues. There are 2 areas for improvement. 1 , When doing homework, he should check the answers after finishing every question. If he doesn't, he could be getting everything wrong without realising. It's happened to me in the past. 2 , Revising in his own time. Even if this means spending only 10 , 15 minutes a day doing a few questions. This will help retain info over the long-term. The same concept could be used for other subjects too.
She has some problems in algebra skills, especially when surds and more than one unknown variables are involved in the algebra expression. She needs to polish and more practice on the algebra skills, which can save her times during a test and reduce the mark loss due to the miscalculation.
Thanks for organising Matt for tutoring. Tom had a great first session with him and said he 'got heaps' out of the experience.
Maryanne was fantastic, the confidence I saw in my daughter this morning was amazing and that was only with one session. Thank you for sending Maryanne our way.
Matt was great with Gemma on Monday evening. We have booked Matt again for next Monday. Thankyou for all of your help.
