A tutor is sometimes like the symbol of the subject he teaches. A tutor's determination and his ability to make the subject interesting measures which extent the student is engaged to the subject. Although different students has different abilities and weakness, a tutor has a responsibility to find the students' strengths and weakness in the…

Listen to students and figure out their problems. Build a very friendly relationship with them. I have a lot of patience to even repeat the same explanation as many times as the student needs in order for them to understand. I can adapt to the needs of each student and communicate well with them. I am also very good at my time…

I believe the most important thing a tutor can do is help a student build genuine understanding and confidence. It's not just about getting the right answer, but about teaching them how to think through a problem independently. I tend to create a comfortable space where students feel safe asking questions, break down complex ideas into clear…

I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to make learning simple by building from a very strong foundation. The reason many students struggle with complex concepts is because their foundation is either weak or vague. My approach has always been to start with the basics, explain them in simple terms, and then gradually build…

I firmly believe that making student's confident about the subject is the most important thing. A tutor is someone who guides the student to the solution also letting the student explore the new entities. It is not like providing the question and the answer at the same time. A tutor must be able to win the heart of the student so the student loves…

One of the most important things a tutor can do is paying attention. By doing so, a tutor can clearly identify where they are struggling, and then provided catered guidance as a response to that. It can also pinpoint a student's specific learning style, allowing further tailoring of sessions to mimic that. Further, it generally just shows the…

The most important thing that is necessary in learning is that we understand what we study. Though it seems difficult, giving each student the individual attention is what a tutor should strive to achieve. A tutor should do more than simply teach a subject for a student. A tutor is an individual that can encourage others to act at their best, this can be in the academic field but can extend to other aspects of life as well. A tutor's most important goal should always be understanding, and if possible, relating to the circumstances of each of their…

Local Reviews

Ezy Math Tutoring have been extremely helpful and easy to deal with. Very professional with their communication and efforts to find the right tutors to fit my son's needs. The tutors themselves have made a big difference to my son's school performance and have always been reliable, knowledgeable, relatable and friendly. Highly Recommend.

Inside ChadstoneTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 3 Mason practiced reading comprehension by answering questions about short stories and tackled subtraction problems from his maths workbook, also focusing on letter formation in handwriting.

In Year 11, Ash reviewed dramatic techniques in Greek tragedy—exploring catharsis and the tragic hero—and studied leadership styles and organisational structures for business management using real-world examples.

Another session with Ash (Year 12) focused on applying business management concepts to exam-style case study scenarios, discussing how different organisational approaches impact outcomes.

Recent Challenges

A Year 12 student preparing for Business Management SACs struggled with time management, leaving some exam questions unfinished and rushing essay structure—"needed more precise argument progression," one note read.

In Psychology, another senior hesitated to put definitions in their own words, making revision less effective.

A Year 9 student's homework was repeatedly incomplete; when asked about it, they admitted motivation had dropped after missing earlier deadlines.

In Years 3–4 maths, several students avoided writing working for addition and subtraction problems ("did the maths in his head and couldn't explain reasoning"), leading to confusion and slow progress when faced with new question types.

Recent Achievements

Ash has started setting her own goals and now organises all her work ahead of time—something she hadn't done before—so she's fully prepared for assessments in business management.

In Year 11 English, another student who used to struggle with structuring essays was able to funnel her ideas into three clear topic sentences during an essay planning session.

Meanwhile, Mason managed to read two chapters aloud of an illustrated novel with minimal help after previously needing frequent prompting on each page.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Phoenix Park Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Salesian College Chadstone.
