Physics is such a vast area, it's easy to get lost. While a lot of the content can be simply memorised, which many students still do, physics also requires higher-order thinking. Understanding the scientific method isn't a small task. All of these demands in a short period of time and with exams coming closer and closer, no wonder students shy away from science subjects. The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
We are continuing to develop self-reliance strategies in tutoring. These include back checking, questioning, seeking understanding and avoiding rule dependence. All these strategies are about encouraging Sarah to take charge of her own learning, and improve her problem-solving skills. Sarah is building on these skills, and I have noticed that she seems to be getting more confident in approaching maths problems.
Since at the moment he is studying one of the easier topics, I am slightly worried it could potentially make him put less work into maths in general. However I definitely will be reiterating the fact that easy topics can still produce hard questions and that there are still more content to come.
There is the occasional issue of not initially understanding the question, though this will be resolved with practise. In addition, Caleb may occasionally make a mistake going from one step to another, though this again is resolved with practise.

We have been very happy with Matthew and importantly, Xavier has worked well with Matthew and has found the tutoring beneficial.
Claire found Samir to be a great tutor - very knowledgeable, encouraging and helpful :-)
Tuition sessions are going on really well as my son has had considerable improvements in Maths with better grades ( jumped from C to A) and much better conceptual understanding of several difficult topics. He finds Ben a gentle and consistent tutor who has kept a wonderful rapport with him. They have also covered some topics in English which helped quite a bit. I would certainly recommend Benjamin as a very helpful and effective tutor for teenagers.
