Every student needs help sometimes, and often that help is needed in English. From basics like punctuation, spelling and grammar right up to narrative writing, proof reading and literary analysis. The Australian curriculum is thorough and there are various challenges that pop up for students over the years. At some point most students could use some help and an English tutor does just that - help! Ideally that help comes before the student has formed a negative cycle or fallen into a no-effort habit.
What we do is facilitate that help as a home service, we'll organise an in-home English tutor in Cowan, or wherever it is convenient for you.
A local Cowan English tutor will come to you at a time and day of your chosing and offer tutoring help in a manner tailored for your child's unique situation. The first lesson works as a trial so that if your child doesn't connect well with the tutor, you don't have to pay and we can organise someone else for you.
The terms of service are super simple too. No contracts or minimum hours or cancellation fees or anything like that. You get charged a simple hourly rate. That's it.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Talking aloud is excellent, but seems to die down when encountering areas/questions we are not comfortable with - this is when talking aloud is most important, so don't forget about it. Back checking and pen to paper are both used effectively; remember to always draw out your unit circle at the beginning of each question (for questions you need it for). Starting to think more independently and relying less on rules, which is good. Never a problem with confidence or thinking we are wrong.
Jack always has a positive attitude in the lesson but does get a bit distracted and off-topic from time to time He is most engaged when there's some kind of competitive or timed game for him to play or compete in. We are doing a weekly Times Table challenge for him to try and beat his previous time Jack has the most motivation to study and do homework if it's in the form of a game. Mathletics is a good resource for this
There have been some things that Murssel was not sure about, but after explaining the intuition behind it, she knows it well. No problem areas as of yet. If she has any issues with certain topics Murssel will ask for clarification.

Everything seems to be going along quite well at the moment, Lawrence is a nice tutor and Arawyn seems to like him.
Thanks for the email Erica, we have been very happy with Enya, she is making lots of effort to have interesting ways to teacher Jasper the maths concepts and he is very happy after each session.
Thanks Erica, Jemma & Hunter get along very well I'm pleased to report. I've observed that Jemma has that natural communication talent that all gr8 teachers have i.e. they engage you with their knowledge.
