Chemistry can seem abstract, learning about elements and matter, how equilibrium occurs and how chemical systems react. No wonder students get discouraged.
All it takes for a student to go from a mild distaste for chemistry to understanding what is scribbled in the textbook is someone to point out what to avoid and where to put in that extra hour of revision. It's like with any problem situation in schooling and even in their personal life, students need to know about using effective strategies. Then all you need is persistence, staying on task until you reach your goal.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Amy has a good pen to paper habit, however sometimes struggles to try and talk it out loud or identify what is keeping her stuck. Reluctant to try and make a mistake, doubts her decisions too. Guesses sometimes.
He tries hard to understand everything and for that I commend him for that. He makes the effort to try to understand everything I teach him clearly and understand the concepts well. He will always tell me of his difficulties at the start of the lesson which we would go over and he would try to understand the concept with more clarity. Does the homework I give him and emails me with any problems and he tries to understand the easy as well as the difficult questions.
Gab doesn't really have gaps as such. It's just being able to retain information learned from previous years and building on those foundations. I don't think Gabriel has so-called "Problem Areas". I think at times he can forget certain passages of processes. For instance when dealing with negative and positive numbers in any facet. Maybe just reviewing the material after a session has been completed to let the contents sink in will help him with that. Otherwise, everything is really positive.

We are certainly happy and off to a great start. Edward has been great, punctual & helpful. I am confident this trend will continue and George's math will only improve.
We found Luke to be a knowledgeable and good tutor who worked well with Jessica. He was able to provide us with 2 tutoring sessions prior to Jessica's exam. I think more than anything he helped settle her nerves and was able to provide exam study strategies to enable her to approach the Chemistry exam in a prepared and calm manor.
Thanks, we all love love love Kieran. Just what both my kids needed. Awesome tutor!
