Modern History Tutor Kareela, NSW
The most important thing that a tutor can do for a student is to help them improve as much as they can in a given subject. I feel confident in a leadership and teaching role due to my previous experience leading primary and high school aged kids at my church. I am also patient and very eager to help improve the skills of any students in their…

Modern History Tutor South Hurstville, NSW
It is always important to enhance the basics for my students before assisting them with the concept aspects of the subject. Through communicating with the student, I would try my best to answer all possible questions requested by the student and instil confidence for my students throughout each lesson. I have many strengths as a tutor. I have the…

Modern History Tutor Rockdale, NSW
I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to help them not only build the skills they need for the subject they're being tutored in, but also to build the skills to be confident of themselves within it as well. From my experience being tutored both in maths and for an instrument, that was something my tutors helped me with,…

Modern History Tutor Dolans Bay, NSW
I believe the three most important things I could do for a student is academic support, addressing study habits and confronting weaknesses. I believe focusing on these three aspects will do the upmost for the student in the short and long term. I’ve grown up and worked with people from across the socio-economic spectrum, I think I have a…

Modern History Tutor Kogarah Bay, NSW
I believe that the tutor's purpose is not to make the student rely on them, but rather to give them the tools to figure things out for themselves. Tutors need to be able to communicate easily and coherently, in order to ensure that the student can understand. I believe I am patient and willing to work at something until the other person…

Modern History Tutor Allawah, NSW
I believe being able to relate and support your student is the most fundamental aspect of tutoring, as it allows you to effectively gauge where they are struggling and excelling. As not every student can be treated in the same manner, this understanding is quintessential in ensuring that one's student is enjoying tutoring and growing in knowledge…

Modern History Tutor Jannali, NSW
Be encouraging - Student's won't understand something straight away and this can be a source of discouragement for them. The last thing they need is a tutor who refuses to acknowledge this. Constantly encouraing the student will help them realise it will only be a matter of time until they nail a concept. Be a friend - The idea of a tutor is to…

The tutor you sent me on Sat is absolutely excellent. Pls don’t change Mina. My kids feel really comfortable with her and finally we feel we have a winning formula.

Inside Greenhills BeachTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 5 student Thomas practised addition, subtraction, telling time, identifying shapes, and skip counting to build foundational numeracy.

In Year 7, Diyian focused on fractions and decimals as well as tackling multiplication and long division problems.

For a senior high school session, Year 10 student Mia explored angle identities—including co-interior and alternate angles—and worked through geometry questions involving types of triangles and parallel lines.

Recent Challenges

A Year 12 student working on essay-based subjects was encouraged to gather research sources as she went, but tended to leave this step until after drafting, making it harder to integrate evidence smoothly. As noted, "she would benefit if she gathered sources whilst in the process of learning those areas."

Meanwhile, a Year 9 maths student sometimes left homework incomplete due to outside commitments; when tasks were finished late or skipped, recent progress with decimals and fractions wasn't fully reinforced before moving on.

In both cases, organization around ongoing work created last-minute stress or slowed consolidation.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Greenhills Beach noticed Tom, a high school student, was initially hesitant with volume conversions but, after working through the method together, began applying them accurately across different maths problems without needing prompts.

In another session, Maiee—also in high school—started making clear links between historical sources and essay questions on the Pompeii and Herculaneum module; she now actively highlights ethical issues instead of just listing facts.

Meanwhile, Diyian (Year 5) had previously struggled to understand multiplication and division but is now tackling those concepts more confidently and even explains his reasoning aloud when asked.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Cronulla Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Cronulla High School.
