Even if your child is doing fairly well in biology, with science there's always something new to master. Passing the exams or getting the grades they want is not a problem for most students, but what they sometimes miss is an opportunity to hone their learning skills.
Through science subjects, in particular, students gain transferable skills that are not only useful for other subjects but real-life problems as well. In reality, it's not just about the content, it's more about the way of thinking. Of course, exams and grades are important, but we've also found that students tend to react positively to tutors who show them these nuances in learning.

The proof is always in the action, to get an idea of how tutoring works in practice check out some feedback from tutors. Typically tutors focus on strategies needed to make progress, what's going well and what needs improvement. Of course, every tutor has their own unique style that is tailored to your child's specific needs.
Dylan uses many learning strategies including talking aloud to himself, note taking from class and the pen to paper strategy to ensure he writes everything down about a question. He also has good confidence and understands that its okay to be wrong and seeks help when needed, even approaching the teachers.
Chloe's attitude has been excellent, she has a strong willingness to learn and shows perseverance when encountering difficult problems. Chloe consistently put a good effort during tutorial sessions and completed assigned home work. Chloe appears to be keeping up with her school assigned work well, and shows a solid work ethic during tutorials.
Occasionally, Emily struggles to remember how to approach problems such as solving equations, fraction operations and factorisation/distribution. I believe that Emily will need to practise these problems in her own time in order to develop mastery.

I am very happy with Rachel. She is very professional and her and Samantha have developed a good working relationship. Samantha has expressed to me that Rachel explains things really well and now she is understanding concepts she hadn't previously.
As you say it is hard to gauge the impact this early, however they seem to have a few laughs and Steve has said Jack is a lot faster in his response time. So that's progress considering Jack's willingness to begin extra learning was very poor. It didn't take more than 2 lessons for that to change. To date we are happy and are glad we didn't leave it any later, as it it the beginning of term I'm sure i will be getting feedback from Jack's teacher through the term on his improvement.I look forward to that. We want him to enjoy all lessons not dread the thought of attending classes. So far so good, Steve seems like a great match.
I just wanted to let you know how very happy we are with Tianna's tutor, Josephine. Josephine is so bubbly, easy going, very patient and great at teaching Maths and making it fun to learn. Tianna is quite taken with Josephine, has built a great rapport with her and has made huge progress with her algebra in the short while Josephine has been tutoring her. Josephine is definitely a great asset to your company and we are so happy she is Tianna's tutor
