Every child is different and their way of learning will ofcourse be different. So with a few classes we should understand the pace of student and make the learning process unique for each child. Some children learn better when they learn visually, some learn just by hearing. It depends upon students. Every child is brilliant. Some understand…

I feel a good tutor would be there for the student at all times whether its regarding the subject or any other hardships they may be facing as a student. I wish to provide all my support for the growth of the student. Moreover, we as tutors should help the students gain more knowledge about the subject in a way they learn to love the subject as…

The tutor can assist the student in the difficulties they are experiencing in grasping the core concept of the subject. Trying to develop interest in the subject by relating the curriculum with everyday examples that are easier for the student to comprehend and understand. And then build their ability to express it correctly in the exam so that…

Make the concept easy enough for them to understand. Secondly, allowing for all types of questions to be asked. I was a shy student, worried about my answers and questions on how my teachers would judge me. But i think the best way a biology tutor can teach someone is by allowing the students to ask the most basic questions so they can grow and…

I believe the most important things a biology tutor can do are to build the student’s confidence, make learning approachable, and create a safe space where they feel comfortable asking questions. It’s not just about helping them get the right answers, but about helping them understand the why behind what they’re learning. A good tutor should…

In my honest opinion, offering to help with their academic performances is not the most important things but it is to be there for my student. To be a supportive person who respect their personality, their actions, their way of life. I might not be the smartest tutor who can help them solve every homework but I will be there for them to listen, to…

Patience! Not everyone learns at the same pace, so it is important to take your time with students so they get the most out of the tutoring sessions. I believe I am good at adapting teaching styles, depending on the student. People learn in different ways, and I think I'm good at catering to how people learn to help them…

The most important thing a biology tutor can do is to practice empathy in order to ensure the student knows they're in a safe environment where they are allowed to make mistakes and learn from them. Being kind and really listening to what they say to you is also essential, as you don't want them to feel like they can't talk to you, as this will…

To give them confidence and make them feel good about themselves. There is nothing more counter-productive than making a student feel disheartened and bad about themselves, since self-doubt yields anxiety and often poor performance in exams. Establishing a basis of trust is vital for the success of the student, so that they feel in a safe space to…

The most important things for a biology tutor to do is to help a student strengthen their own ability to learn independantly. It is far more important that a student understands the learning process and what works best for them rather than simply memorise a single topic. Personally, a biology tutor is someone outside of school who the student can rely on for their studies. Students show their vulnerability here so that tutor can build them to be strong at school. So a tutor can help the student be strong on their subjects and understand the subject with life. Understanding the student on what they need first and…

From the moment Jess walked in the door she was engaging and warm. My daughter took to Jess straight away and the teaching methods were at my daughter's pace and gave her confidence in maths again. I'm glad I made the decision to use a tutor at this crucial at the start of high school. I'm already impressed by Jess' professionalism and successful teaching methods.

Inside KeiravilleTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 8 student Mia focused on coordinate geometry for an upcoming assessment, working through challenge questions and applying trigonometric relations like solving for sin(x) and cos(x).

Year 10 student Alex revised logarithms by evaluating expressions using log laws and properties, then tackled trigonometry with complementary angles.

Meanwhile, Year 11 student Sam addressed network and critical path analysis in preparation for assessments, breaking down project scheduling problems into clear steps.

Recent Challenges

In Year 11, a student relied heavily on calculators during algebraic simplification—"maybe a little less reliance on the calculator for some of them"—which masked gaps in formula recall and slowed independent problem-solving.

A Year 8 learner struggled to organise working out neatly when tackling worded questions; copying negative signs incorrectly led to small but recurring errors.

In Year 5 maths, another student's difficulty reading analog clocks and handling time differences showed up when trying to track daily events.

For one senior student, inconsistent back-checking on worded problems resulted in missed marks even on familiar content, leaving her frustrated after reviewing corrections together.

Recent Achievements

One Keiraville tutor recently noticed a big shift in a Year 10 student's approach to trigonometry: after initially relying heavily on prompts, he began clarifying confusions himself and consistently identified solution steps for trig questions without needing guidance.

In Year 8, another student who'd previously struggled with adding fractions was able to solve problems involving multiple fractions—something that had been a sticking point before—and moved on to confidently tackling BIDMAS questions after some revision.

Meanwhile, a younger primary student who once hesitated to break down maths problems started speaking her thought process out loud and now uses new problem-solving strategies on her own.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Mobile Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Keiraville Public School.
