The most important thing a tutor can do is to listen o what the student wants to learn and what they need to learn. A tutor should be able to be ready to answer questions as well. Over all a tutor should support their students to achieve their goals no matter their grades. Being able to figure who needs extra support and being able to make myself…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is actually listen to what they want. Although it may seem obvious, many tutors I’ve had in the past have not been beneficial as they only teach what they desire. By actually addressing specific needs of students, I believe a tutor can make it most beneficial for students I feel that, having…

The most important things a tutor can do for a student is have an interest in the topic themselves. An interested tutor increases the interest of the students meaning the student has more of an incentive to study and invest their time in a subject. Further more an important aspect of a tutoring job is preparation on the side of the tutor, to allow…

I think that the most important thing a tutor can do is to not just provide their students with an answer but to guide the student through the process. As the saying goes "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime" helping a student understand the thought process helps them consolidate…

For me, the most important thing a tutor can do is help a student build confidence in themselves. Once they feel supported and encouraged, they are much more open to learning. Local Reviews

First contact, reply was within an hour. A tutor was assigned and progress was made immediately. We started with Math for Year 11 and progressed to English for Year 12, both subjects have given great results so far. Definitely recommend EzyMath Tutoring to future students in need of confidence.

Inside LavertonTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 10 student Harry practised solving and graphing linear inequalities, as well as simplifying algebraic expressions with a focus on factorising.

For Year 11, Maya worked through differentiation techniques in calculus and tackled applications of derivatives using exam-style questions.

Meanwhile, Year 12 student Chloe focused on probability distributions, including binomial distribution problems and interpreting statistical results from practice assessments.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student struggled with forgetting key algebraic rules during classwork, leading to hesitancy and missed steps when solving equations.

In Year 11 Maths Methods, "timing during questions" was flagged as a concern—spending too long on familiar problems left little time for challenging sections, especially in differentiation tasks.

Another senior student relied heavily on their CAS calculator for fraction manipulation but then felt lost without it in non-calculator exams.

When exact values in trigonometry came up, skipped revision of formulas meant blank spots mid-test, leaving answers unfinished as the clock ran down.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Laverton recently noticed a big shift with a Year 12 student who used to freeze on worded maths problems—now, after working through strategies together, she's able to break down and solve these questions without prompting.

In Year 10, one student who had trouble applying the product and chain rules in calculus started picking them up much faster, showing more independence during practice sessions instead of waiting for hints.

Meanwhile, a Year 4 student who often forgot content from week to week surprised his tutor by recalling previous lessons and answering all ten basic algebra questions correctly without reminders.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Altona Meadows Library and Learning Centre—or at your child's school (with permission), like Seabrook Primary School.
