Recent Challenges

In Year 4 maths, one student avoided writing out multiplication steps and instead counted on fingers, which slowed progress—she needs to practice more and not rely on her fingers.

For a Year 12 chemistry student, over-reliance on notes rather than making her own summaries led to surface-level understanding: "needs to spend more time on making notes in order for a better understanding of all the concepts in this module."

Meanwhile, a Year 12 maths student skipped checking working in integration questions; when errors occurred, he struggled to spot them until they were pointed out. Marks slipped away quietly during calculation-heavy sections.

Recent Achievements

A tutor in Leppington recently noticed a Year 11 student who used to skip questions if unsure now tries every calculus problem, even when he isn't confident, showing real persistence and initiative.

In Year 12 chemistry, another student has started bringing her own study notes to sessions and is able to explain the structures and functions of alcohols in her own words—something she was hesitant to attempt before.
