Learning Chemistry feels like learning a new language. It's hard in the beginning, you don't know what to look out for and even though you recognise things here and there that doesn't mean you can read a formula, let alone understand it. It's one of those subjects where it clicks or it just doesn't. Tutors we work with understand that. They've been there, they had to overcome the same hurdle and they are passionate about helping...
Learning Chemistry feels like learning a new language. It's hard in the beginning, you don't know what to look out for and even though you recognise things here and there that doesn't mean you can read a formula, let alone understand it. This term, we've really been working on Tanner's ability to use memory pegs and triggers to help him recall formulas, to follow a set of generic steps for calculating perimeter, volume or area and show his working out in a logical format, and for him to try to avoid lazy thinking and critically double check his work.
-a reward system works well and keeps the motivation Good effort during lessons, however, could have more initiative to learn on her own too in order to understand and not wait on teachers/tutor to teach. Be curious. She has a tendency to get a little bit distracted, which is understandable. I'm glad however that she's been excited about learning and trying.
6/12/20166- Went through past HSC Exam papers to begin to understand the type of questions and answers required from her to achieve a Band 6 result. 6/12/2016- Still unsure with the interpretation of Literature, with some practice utilising the Memory Peg Tools this will improve.

We just wanted to thank Thomas Ban for the wonderful work he has done with Jasmine this year. We feel that she has received these grades due to Thomas tutoring. He has challenged and pushed her to work harder and improve her maths. He is also extremely professional and courteous.
Working for Ezy Math Tutoring has given me confidence as a maths tutor. I began without much formal experience and the CEP program was able to teach me as i tutored. The company was very helpfull and whenever I had questions about dealing with problems they suggested ways to resolve them - i was able to help many students with this support. thanks. 24th September 2011
