The most important things a tutor can focus on is finding aspects in a student's study which they can be invested and interested in, in turn allowing them to excel in the study they are doing. I have an affinity to forming bonds with my students as I aim to understand what they think of me, their studies and their preferences. I formulate my…

Explaining in-depth is the most important thing. Sometimes there may not be enough time for this, in which case enabling the student to achieve their short term goal is the objective (ie, passing their next exam/assessment task) I try to be understanding and pace the lesson to suit each…

The most important thing about tutoring is to ensure the students learn strategies to learn new mathematical concepts, so they can succeed on their own. This is because if a tutor were to consistenly helep a student by giving answers, the tutor is not going to accompany the students into their exams, and so the students may feel lost without the…

A tutor can provide mentoring and perspective for a student. Tutoring in my opinion is more effective than lecturing as the student gets more individual attention. The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to provide them with the correct habits when handling any situation to do with maths whether it is just practising or in a test. Finding out whether a student is a visual, auditory or kinesthetic learner is important. By discovering how the student learns best, I believe he will be able to reach his true potential. To do this, a tutor must be malleable in his teaching methods and communication. Furthermore, it is crucial that the tutor and student create a bond that reaches…

Essentially help a student to become an independent thinker and leaner. Tutors should work towards the goal of teaching their students so that the students can later on answer questions correctly on their own without any form of assistance. At a minimum, a tutor should help the student achieve their own personal goal. However, if possible, a tutor should also encourage the student to achieve higher, challenging them to exceed their own expectations.
