Tutoring is more than just teaching a student and having them understand their work. Being an influential totem for students to look up to and confide in is an essential part of being a tutor.
I take pride in being able to help each student acknowledge their potential and realise that they're able to extend their limitations as long as they're…

A tutor should create a mutual trust between them and build a strong relationship with the student in order to accurately and effectively teach the certain area. This will create a bond and also create a personalised tutoring schedule to assist the students in their difficulties. My strengths are my communication skills and ability to create a…

It is not simply about giving them the answer, but guiding them towards it, in a way that develops technique that will help future success for the student. I believe the most important things a tutor can do is improve students confidence in a topic as well as knowledge. Increasing a student's confidence encourages them to ask more questions and gain a deeper understanding. A confident mindset is successful when it comes to learning. I am an approachable person and can empathise with my students,…

Knowing a student and modelling his learning plan accordingly addressing his concerns. Give positive messages. The most important thing of course is to be considerate that not all students are at the same academic level so some student initially may not be able to understand you but as a tutor it is our duty to make sure at the end of the day they have learnt and understand the required work. It is also very important that as a tutor you must care about…

As tutoring gives a more face to face approach, a tutor can do more than a teacher on some occasions for a student as they give more individual focus on each student's weakness and strengths. The most important thing I can do for a student is giving them the time, knowledge and hands-on approach others who cannot do that for them. Tutoring can…

Encourage and motivate. Second and third only to giving them complete guidance. Showing them how they can get there and that they are completely able. As a tutor I believe you should never give up. There is always a way to make a student understand. We are in a sense guides and if we cant show them a certain way, then there is always another. I am…

I've always said that a good teacher will help a student understand the work. A very good tutor will help a student find it within themselves to do the work. Covering topics before or after it is done in school, understanding complex topics can be quite difficult, a repetition of the topic or the topic being taught from a different perspective or using different methods will enable the student to develop an extensive knowledge of the topic.
