Motivation and confidence are two key elements of student success, if I can support them in achieving a sense of self-efficacy regarding these elements, they are bound to see improvement. Students often know where they fall short in their work, they just need motivation to improve those areas. Once they know that they can achieve this themselves,…

In order to establish a good relationship, the tutor must be an energetic person, someone with a lot of enthusiasm with respect to human interactions. This interest will certainly have a positive impact on a child discouraged by the school and his or her bad grades. Through his or her good mood and motivation, the tutor will be a model for…

I believe a tutor can prepare interactive lectures, so that students can participate in the lectures. That technique is very helpful to get the maximum attention of the students. Moreover, a tutor can provide real life example of the topics so that students can easily relate the study contents with the real world. I can easily get synchronized…

Teach in an understandable, motivating, and enjoyable way. Crucial factors for efficient learning (things as relibaility, punctuality and so on) are all obvious and mandatory to me. Finally, every student has his / her own ways of learning / understanding things, and it is clearly the job of the tutor to find out the most efficient one, to let the…

I think the most important things for a tutor to do is to make sure the student understands how to do the question, and not just give them the answer or formula. It is essential for them to utilise all the skills and I want to foster the ability to identify which methods are required for each question. I like to teach in fun ways so hopefully that…

The most important thing a tutor can do for a student, is to understand their obstacles, may it be a particular math topic or studying maths itself. A tutor must be able to guide their student through these obstacles in order for them to succeed in maths. Most importantly to a student a tutor is there to provide a student with the most positive, educational experience that suits the student's needs. I believe communication is the most important things a tutor can do for a student, because to make sure a student is learning, the tutor should understand what a student do or do not understand, once we understands where they are up to and what needs more clarification. I think the most important thing a tutor can do for a student is to make them feel confident in their understanding, which allows them to be better learners overall. The most important thing a tutor can do for a student is help them believe in their own ability to learn. When a student gains confidence, they become more willing to try, make mistakes, and keep going — and that’s when real progress happens. A tutor’s job isn’t just to explain concepts, but to create a safe space where the student…

Ezy Maths have been Fabulous ! My children are growing in confidence and now are receiving awards at school for their maths. Highly recommend Ezy maths for tutoring.
Samantha, Tennyson Point

Inside Tennyson PointTutoring Sessions

Content Covered

Year 7 student Amber worked on her Chemistry worksheet focused on radioactive decay and also reviewed chemical bonding for an upcoming assessment.

Year 10 student Imogen practised solving algebraic equations and changing the subject of formulas, using guided examples from her maths text.

Meanwhile, Year 12 student Michael concentrated on logarithms in mathematics and motion in one dimension for physics, working through problems to strengthen understanding of both topics.

Recent Challenges

A Year 8 student in mathematics often worked out answers mentally rather than setting out clear, step-by-step working on paper—he tends to work out the answers in his head instead of writing out his working out, one tutor noted.

This habit made it harder to spot small calculation errors, especially in algebra and inequalities, and meant revision was less effective later.

Meanwhile, a senior economics student had incomplete notes for case study topics like financial ratios, making exam preparation challenging when linking concepts under time pressure.

In both cases, organization and visible process steps limited recall during tests.

Recent Achievements

In Year 8 maths, Tyler had previously struggled with algebraic fractions but now independently works through complex problems, applying skills from earlier lessons without prompting.

A Year 11 chemistry student who often hesitated to try questions solo has started completing most chemical reaction exercises on her own during sessions, only asking for help when truly needed.

Meanwhile, a primary school student who used to avoid multiplying and dividing negative numbers is now confidently using number lines and finishing related worksheets each week. Last session, she solved every question without skipping any steps.

Local Spots for Tutoring

If you'd prefer not to have lessons at home, tutoring can also take place at a local library—such as Gladesville Library—or at your child's school (with permission), like Gladesville Public School.
