What do I enjoy most about tutoring? 😁
When a student understands what I've been explaining to them for over fifteen minutes, there's a glint in their eye that says it all. Tutoring, or teaching in general, is a very fulfilling job and having the ability to pass my knowledge onto others and have them fall in love with learning? There's nothing better than that!
My Strengths as Tutor 💪
I am approachable. If student don't feel like they can pass on their problems to you, what is the point of teaching them? Personally, I've had bad teachers and feeling like you cannot talk to them because you feel dumb creates a worse self-esteem and I don't want my students to feel that way. So, having a friendly and enthusiastic front can allow them to be more comfortable around me and ultimately, the lesson will be a win-win for both sides.
Most important things I can do for a student 🏅
Make them fall in love with learning. You cannot learn without an open mind and an open mind is created through influence. As a tutor, I'd like to make my students fall in love with learning in many different ways - not just the standard "sit and do this worksheet"! When students fall in love with learning, that's when they are more receptive to what you're teaching them.
